College 101: How To Destress

Although college is filled with excitement, surprise, drama, lack of sleep, and lots of homework, stress is the biggest issue that college students face. Many of my friends, and even my roommates, stay up until ridiculous hours of the night, doing homework, finishing an essay, or studying for a midterm. This impulsive need to stay up until the wee hours is what causes students to be so tired; waiting until late at night to start homework will most definitely lead to sleep deprivation. Because so many college students struggle with sleep deprivation (I am even suffering from a lack of sleep as well), this post is all about how to destress, and prevent yourself from having panic attacks when deadlines or exams approach. The first step to take in order to destress is to make a schedule. Now, this doesn't have to be complex, or a physical schedule. What you can do is try to finish as much homework or studying as you can in an hour. After the hour passes, take a 10 minute break, the...

College: A Rollercoaster Full of Ups and Downs

Having a lot more free time - you typically have a few classes a day in college instead of 8 hours of school Monday thro...

I hope everyone had a great Valentines Day!! I know I did for sure. Plans did not go as expected, but it turned out for the best! I am still in a Valentines Day coma, and am trying to avoid the carbohydrates and candies because I consumed so many leading up to and on Valentines Day. On Valentines Day morning my boyfriend surprised me in my dorm room by bringing me a chocolate rose, which was really cute. We then went to breakfast, did some homework (sounds terrible, but as college students, we have to do it) and then spent the rest of the day together, exchanging Valentines Day presents and watching episodes of Arrested Development as well as other random but comedic YouTube videos. As for dinner, we got on the bus to head downtown; however, my boyfriend was reluctant to go downtown due to the fact that we had been downtown for the past few days to run errands, go out to lunch or dinner, etc. So, we ended up getting off the bus while we were still on campus, and walked back to our ...
