Beauty Products Haul

Recently I have been watching more beauty focused YouTube channels, and have been obsessed with a few of them, especially Zoe Sugg's (Zoella) channel along with Niomi Smart's. They have such inspiring YouTube channels, and they post many beauty inspired fashion videos that I love to watch. Whether it's a makeup haul or a get ready with me video, I always love seeing the products they use and advertise to their viewers, and because of that, I decided to do that in this blog post.

When I shower, I use multiple products of different brands. Here is a list of all of them:

1. I use the Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo and Conditioner. I switched to Herbal Essences a long time ago, and turned to the hydration one because of how unhappy I was with my dry frizzy hair. In using this shampoo my hair has turned noticeably softer, and even though I have tried out different shampoos/conditioners from the same brand, I always go back to Hello Hydration.

2. After I put conditioner in my hair I like to comb through my hair using a Tangle Teezer. I got mine at Urban Outfitters, and it is the perfect comb to use when in the shower to evenly distribute conditioner through your hair. It also detangles your hair instantly and makes it much softer.

3. For body washes I use the Neutrogena Body Scrub with Salicylic Acid. I have very dry skin, and I love how this product has salicylic acid to get deep into your skin's pores to get smoother, clearer skin. I also switch off with the Dove Body Wash with I believe it is Shea Butter and Vanilla. This body wash smells amazing, and with a small amount you can you use the wash all over your body without having to put more on your loofa.

Now, once I get out of the shower, I use these products:

1. Lotion wise, I use the Soap and Glory Righteous Body Butter, and it smells AMAZING. I got it from Sephora for $6 because I purchased the mini size, but i love this lotion so much I'm buying the large version when I go back. This lotion makes your skin feel so soft, and it automatically sinks into your skin upon applying, so there is no greasy residue leftover. It also has a strong smell that lasts throughout the day, which is fantastic.

2. When I am not using the Soap and Glory lotion I use the type of Lubriderm made especially for those with dry skin. I have been using Lubriderm for years, but have been trying out Soap and Glory and other types of lotions made particularly for dry skin. I will always love Lubriderm and I still use it to this day, and there are so many different lotions under that brand for different types of skin which is so great.

Now on to my hair:

1. I have recently been using the Organix Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum to protect my hair from breaking, as my hair is always shedding all over the place, and I wanted a serum to make my strands stronger. I love this serum because it seems to be working, and you only need a very small amount to cover your roots all the way down to the tips of your hair.

2. I also alternate with a hydration cream made by KMS Moist Repair Hydration Creme. It is a leave in cream, and I use it on my wet hair after I get out of the shower. It makes my hair so much softer and full, and I will buy a new one once I run out.

3. If I wake up in the morning but don't have time to shower I usually use the Not Your Mother's Clean Freak Dry Shampoo. I love this product because you can spray as much as you want in your hair and it won't show, and it absorbs the oil in your hair really well. I usually spray this in my hair then put my hair up into a ponytail or bun so the dry shampoo can really set in while I put makeup on and whatnot.

Getting Through Finals Week

As winter break is approaching and finals week is coming up, many students are stressed about how to study in order to perform successfully on their tests. Here are some tips on how to be calm, well rested, and ready for finals week. 1. Use Quizlet  - I started using Quizlet my junior year of high school, and I have used it ever since. I am now a freshman in college and I still use Quizlet for my classes. Quizlet is amazing; if you have a lot of terms you need to memorize, Quizlet is the perfect online website that will help you study those terms. Once you write in the terms and their definitions, there are a variety of options you can choose in order to study the terms, including a test, flashcards, etc. 2. Get lots of rest - Don't stay out late when you know you have a final the next day. Getting a lot of rest is beneficial if you want to perform well on a test. It does sound lame to go to sleep really early, but if you do so, your body will thank you. By going to sleep early...

Spicy Veggie Bean Chili

Since moving from my old house with a tiny, cramped kitchen to my new house with a large, open kitchen with an island, I have been meal prepping, cooking, and baking a lot more. With this, I have been keen to try new recipes! I do eat meat, but most of the time I tend to cook vegetarian and vegan meals. This vegetarian chili recipe was one that I came across while browsing for a good, hearty chili recipe, and it is so delicious I had to share it with all of you. I did not come up with this recipe myself. The lovely Shannon, with her blog "The Glowing Fridge," posted this recipe. Her website is amazing, and I highly recommend you check it out. (Also, if you are interested in more plant based recipes, take a look at Shannon's website here: https://www.theglowingfridge.com ) Ingredients: 1/3 cup vegetable broth (or 1 tbsp olive oil) - for sautéing 1 onion, diced 1/4 of a finely diced jalapeño (optional) 3 minced cloves of garlic 1 bell pepper of any color, diced 1 ...
