Starbucks: How To Know You're Hooked

Caramel Macchiato (Freshly steamed milk with
vanilla-flavored syrup, marked with espresso and
topped with caramel sauce)
In the past week, I have been getting increasingly nervous. I have always been a fan of Starbucks ever since I was in middle school, and I started from the basic Strawberries and Creme Frappe, then graduating to the oh so scandalous Caramel Frappe and Shaken Iced Passion Tea Lemonade. But now that I am in my Junior year of high school and am feeling the pressures and stress of completing the year with a bang, I have been turning into a zombie, walking around in a daze, half awake and half dead. Because of this, I have turned to Starbucks and their caffeinated drinks to keep me from crashing at 8 P.M. every night from exhaustion.

It is clear that I have a problem. A massive problem. I have a Starbucks addiction. And that's NOT good.

I have been trying out all these new drinks, both hot and cold ones, and am trying to figure out the best ones that work for me. I have gone through my phases, my strawberries and creme phase, my caramel frappe phase, my vanilla bean frappe phase, my passion tea lemonade phase. And, now I am moving on to my espresso phase, the drinks that keep me awake at night. I have tried the vanilla latte, the oh so lovely caramel macchiato, and am looking forwards to trying the iced caramel macchiato. To be honest, I was anxious to drive to Starbucks after school and give in to my desires, but I resisted, knowing that I would buy more than I originally bargained for.

When you have a Starbucks addiction, you know. For me, I spend most of my time thinking about Starbucks (sounds fake but its really not), I carry a Starbucks card in my backpack and spend a quality amount of time pondering what drink to order, and wake up in the mornings feeling groggy and thinking, "It would be so nice to get a Vanilla Latte or Caramel Macchiato to wake myself up."

I had to rant about my problem to you guys, and now I would like to know, what obsessions do you have? Do you feel the need to go to Starbucks or any other coffee shop every day to get your daily shot of espresso, or do you have a secret guilty pleasure?

Book Recommendations

I am a huge book worm and try to read whenever I have time, which is usually late at night before I go to bed, on weekends, or on breaks. I recently found that I was short on books to read, which led me to research on Google novels that would appeal to me. Because I am a sucker for romance movies, I mainly looked for that genre of novels. I recently got a few novels in the mail along with a few that a friend let me borrow, and I want to share them with you. 1. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green - I have read this book around three or four times, and it is still my favorite novel. It is a story about two teenagers who do have cancer, but it focuses more on the blossoming love story between them and how their world changes because of that as they also go through ups and downs due to their illnesses. It is a great read anywhere and anytime, and will always make you tear up by the end. 2. Let It Snow - This novel consists of three holiday stories written by John Green, Maure...

Dairy-free Banana Bread

From the end of 2019 to now, I have been really into baking breads. Out of the ones I have made, making banana bread and pumpkin walnut bread have been my top favorites. One of the first banana breads that I made was utterly delicious! However, because I like to share my baked goods with others, particularly my boyfriend, I went on the hunt for a dairy free recipe. My boyfriend is lactose intolerant, and I wanted to bake something that both he and I could enjoy. So, upon coming upon this recipe during my search online, I made a loaf last night and it was so delicious I had to share it on the blog. Here is the recipe! Photo from Google Images Ingredients: 4 very ripe bananas 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup dark brown sugar 1/2 cup canola oil or coconut oil 2 eggs 2 tsp vanilla extract 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 tsp baking soda 2 tsp ground cinnamon 1 tsp sea salt Steps: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
