Never Give Up

As a teenager, many adults think, Oh she is young, she can do whatever she wants! Although that is true, it's also not true. As a senior in high school I find myself thinking about the future more often than I would like to admit. While many picture their senior year of high school partying, graduating, and spending time with friends, I think about academics, SAT and ACT testing, and the most stressful thing of all, college applications. Thinking about the sudden push to succeed from my parents and elder peers, I created a jar of inspirational quotes. I pick a few quotes from the jar daily and read them, becoming inspired and redeeming myself to continue my hard work towards success. Because of how much such a simple task has helped me, I wanted to share some inspirational quotes with you all with the hopes of inspiring you guys also.

*Some of these are song lyrics, or quotes from novels/movies

1. "Sometimes you make choices in life and sometimes choices make you."

2. "Yesterday is not ours to recover, but tomorrow is ours to win or lose."

3. "You deserve to be with somebody who makes you happy."

4. "Positive thinking will let you do everything better than negative thinking will."

5. "Love, it never dies, it never goes away, it never fades, so long as you hang onto it. Love can make you immortal."

6. "Correction does much, but encouragement does more."

7. "The pieces of us both, under every city light, and they're shining as we fade into the night."

8. "Every day brings new choices."

9. "It takes but one positive thought when given a chance to survive and thrive to overpower an entire army of negative thoughts."

10. "There's a reason that you are here."

11. "It's better to be hated for what you are than to be loved for what you are not."

12. "I'll stay up late, listen to the rain pour, louder than anything, drowning out anything that's troubling me. Push on, always keep dreaming."

13. "Maybe it's not about the happy ending, maybe it's about the story."

14. "Beauty isn't about having a pretty face. It's about having a pretty mind, pretty heart and pretty soul."

15. "You've got to be who you are, and not be scared... Be strong."

"See the positive possibilities. Redirect the substantial energy of your frustration and turn it into positive, effective, unstoppable determination."

Book Recommendations

I am a huge book worm and try to read whenever I have time, which is usually late at night before I go to bed, on weekends, or on breaks. I recently found that I was short on books to read, which led me to research on Google novels that would appeal to me. Because I am a sucker for romance movies, I mainly looked for that genre of novels. I recently got a few novels in the mail along with a few that a friend let me borrow, and I want to share them with you. 1. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green - I have read this book around three or four times, and it is still my favorite novel. It is a story about two teenagers who do have cancer, but it focuses more on the blossoming love story between them and how their world changes because of that as they also go through ups and downs due to their illnesses. It is a great read anywhere and anytime, and will always make you tear up by the end. 2. Let It Snow - This novel consists of three holiday stories written by John Green, Maure...

Dairy-free Banana Bread

From the end of 2019 to now, I have been really into baking breads. Out of the ones I have made, making banana bread and pumpkin walnut bread have been my top favorites. One of the first banana breads that I made was utterly delicious! However, because I like to share my baked goods with others, particularly my boyfriend, I went on the hunt for a dairy free recipe. My boyfriend is lactose intolerant, and I wanted to bake something that both he and I could enjoy. So, upon coming upon this recipe during my search online, I made a loaf last night and it was so delicious I had to share it on the blog. Here is the recipe! Photo from Google Images Ingredients: 4 very ripe bananas 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup dark brown sugar 1/2 cup canola oil or coconut oil 2 eggs 2 tsp vanilla extract 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 tsp baking soda 2 tsp ground cinnamon 1 tsp sea salt Steps: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
