5SOS Concert

5 Seconds of Summer played a concert at the Shoreline Amphitheatre on July 22, 2015 as part of their Rock Out With Your Socks Out tour (ROWYSO), and they literally rocked our socks off. The show lasted from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm, and was the best 3 hour concert of my life. I mean, 3 hours of dancing, singing, and fangirling? I wouldn't trade that for anything in the world.

The opening act for the band, Hey Violet, was incredible. They played for 30 minutes, and played their hit songs, including This Is Why, Sparks Fly, and an incredible cover of Taylor Swift's Blank Space. Hey Violet was the perfect opening act for 5SOS, as they pumped up the crowd and got everyone on their feet, dancing and singing along.

The level of screaming and fangirling was intense for Hey Violet, but when 5SOS ran onstage to play their first song End Up Here, the levels of screaming were insane! So insane I literally could not hear myself speak or think. Because my friend and I were sitting on the lawn we spent the whole concert standing, but the view of the stage was incredible, and we were able to see the performer's bodies running around stage and singing. And, the zoom in screens allowed us to see the band's faces, which made the most perfect night even better.

Every member in the band was so on point vocally and in energy. Calum Hood's vocals in Voodoo Doll caused me to go weak at the knees, Luke Hemmings's high energy and solos in Amnesia were to die for, Michael Clifford's hair and guitar solos were perfection, and Ashton Irwin's intense drum solos and flipping of his hair made my heart flutter. I ended up filming a lot of the show, but I did not film all, as I wanted to put my phone away and savor what I was seeing live. However, my favorite songs that were performed were Amnesia, She's Kinda Hot, Voodoo Doll, She Looks So Perfect, and Beside You. And, my friend and I were able to get merch shirts for $15 a piece after the concert, which made my day! I literally got home, changed into my pajama shorts, and wore the 5SOS shirt that I got at the concert, to bed.

Although last night's concert was the last one they were doing in California, 5SOS and Hey Violet are still continuing their ROWYSO tour throughout the rest of the U.S. and in Canada as well. They are absolutely incredible live, and even though I hadn't been listening to 5SOS songs in a while, last night proved I was a true fan, as I knew the words to every single one of their songs performed. 5SOS was so incredible that I left the concert shaking and crying out of happiness, not to mention the multiple times I couldn't control my inner fangirl during the concert and got weak at the knees upon hearing the boys's solos. 5SOS is definitely worth seeing in concert as they engage the crowd and are always high in energy, and I give last night's concert two thumbs up!

Book Recommendations

I am a huge book worm and try to read whenever I have time, which is usually late at night before I go to bed, on weekends, or on breaks. I recently found that I was short on books to read, which led me to research on Google novels that would appeal to me. Because I am a sucker for romance movies, I mainly looked for that genre of novels. I recently got a few novels in the mail along with a few that a friend let me borrow, and I want to share them with you. 1. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green - I have read this book around three or four times, and it is still my favorite novel. It is a story about two teenagers who do have cancer, but it focuses more on the blossoming love story between them and how their world changes because of that as they also go through ups and downs due to their illnesses. It is a great read anywhere and anytime, and will always make you tear up by the end. 2. Let It Snow - This novel consists of three holiday stories written by John Green, Maure...

Dairy-free Banana Bread

From the end of 2019 to now, I have been really into baking breads. Out of the ones I have made, making banana bread and pumpkin walnut bread have been my top favorites. One of the first banana breads that I made was utterly delicious! However, because I like to share my baked goods with others, particularly my boyfriend, I went on the hunt for a dairy free recipe. My boyfriend is lactose intolerant, and I wanted to bake something that both he and I could enjoy. So, upon coming upon this recipe during my search online, I made a loaf last night and it was so delicious I had to share it on the blog. Here is the recipe! Photo from Google Images Ingredients: 4 very ripe bananas 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup dark brown sugar 1/2 cup canola oil or coconut oil 2 eggs 2 tsp vanilla extract 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 tsp baking soda 2 tsp ground cinnamon 1 tsp sea salt Steps: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a standard size loaf pan (I use olive ...
