Backyard Bowls

Backyard Bowls, a little eatery located in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara is hot and trending right now, with its popular acai bowls bringing new and returning customers to its store.

I recently discovered Backyard Bowls on my road trip to Santa Barbara with my parents. One of my friends who I am going to college with lives in Santa Barbara, and I distinctly remember him mentioning going to Backyard Bowls with his family as well. Luckily, the hotel that I stayed at in Santa Barbara, the Best Western plus Pepper Tree Inn, was right across from La Cumbre Plaza, where Backyard Bowls is located, thus making the access to the eatery very simple. I remember waking up in my hotel room to my parents telling me to get up because we were going to Backyard Bowls for breakfast. Hearing the name of the restaurant sparked the memory of my friend telling me that Backyard Bowls was delicious, thus making it easier for me to get out of bed and ready for the trek to the store.

Once at Backyard Bowls, I was amazed by all that was on the menu. There were the popular acai bowls, ranging from the traditional berry bowl all the way to a power bowl and cocoa almond bowl. But there was much more than just acai bowls. There were smoothies including the cocoa acai and tropical ginger, and breakfast bowls such as oatmeal, yogurt bowls, and the ability to build your own hot cereal. I of course, went for the traditional berry bowl, and was surprised by how delicious it was! The acai bowl I had at Backyard Bowls was the first acai bowl I had ever had in my life, and it is safe to say that they are delicious, not to mention nutritious as well.

The acai bowl that I had was incredible. There was the blend of acai berry, banana, strawberry, and apple juice on the bottom, and then topped off with granola, fresh fruit, goji berries, and honey. The bowl was so delicious that I literally begged my parents to take me back there for breakfast the next day, and of course, we did go back the next day.

Backyard Bowls is delicious, needless to say. I did not have enough time to try their smoothies, oatmeal, or protein bowls, but I can easily say that Backyard Bowls is totally worth going to. They have such a large variety of options on their menu, and the employees are more than willing to help you find the perfect product for you to purchase and love. If you live in Santa Barbara or the Los Angeles area, definitely make sure you take a trip to Backyard Bowls because it is a trip worth making.

Book Recommendations

I am a huge book worm and try to read whenever I have time, which is usually late at night before I go to bed, on weekends, or on breaks. I recently found that I was short on books to read, which led me to research on Google novels that would appeal to me. Because I am a sucker for romance movies, I mainly looked for that genre of novels. I recently got a few novels in the mail along with a few that a friend let me borrow, and I want to share them with you. 1. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green - I have read this book around three or four times, and it is still my favorite novel. It is a story about two teenagers who do have cancer, but it focuses more on the blossoming love story between them and how their world changes because of that as they also go through ups and downs due to their illnesses. It is a great read anywhere and anytime, and will always make you tear up by the end. 2. Let It Snow - This novel consists of three holiday stories written by John Green, Maure...

Dairy-free Banana Bread

From the end of 2019 to now, I have been really into baking breads. Out of the ones I have made, making banana bread and pumpkin walnut bread have been my top favorites. One of the first banana breads that I made was utterly delicious! However, because I like to share my baked goods with others, particularly my boyfriend, I went on the hunt for a dairy free recipe. My boyfriend is lactose intolerant, and I wanted to bake something that both he and I could enjoy. So, upon coming upon this recipe during my search online, I made a loaf last night and it was so delicious I had to share it on the blog. Here is the recipe! Photo from Google Images Ingredients: 4 very ripe bananas 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup dark brown sugar 1/2 cup canola oil or coconut oil 2 eggs 2 tsp vanilla extract 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 tsp baking soda 2 tsp ground cinnamon 1 tsp sea salt Steps: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
