My Morning Routine, March 2016

Hello! I felt the urge to write a post about my daily morning routine, and therefore the post is dedicated to that! It may seem quite simple compared to YouTube videos or blog posts by beauty bloggers and youtubers, but because I am in college, I have less time to get ready in the morning. And, I prefer having a simple, clean look instead of a dressed up one, because it is quick to do and still makes me look fresh and ready for the day!

After my alarm goes off, I get out of bed, grab my contacts, get my toiletries bag (face wash, moisturizer, toothpaste, toothbrush, floss, etc.) as well as my face towel, and walk to the bathroom. Once there, I tie my hair back, and wash my face. After cleansing, I put in my contacts, and moisturize my face. Then, I head back to my room to apply my makeup.

Makeup wise, I go for a simple outlook every day. I do not use primer; I use my moisturizer as a "primer" since it actually holds my makeup on pretty well for the entire day. After my moisturizer dries, I apply some concealer, then 2 layers of my compact powder foundation. After that, I take my bronzer brush and apply bronzer to my cheeks, a little on the hairline of my forehead, and apply any remaining bits on the brush under my chin and on my neck. Then, I finish it all off with a finishing powder. To complete the whole look, I sometimes apply a pink lip gloss, but when in a hurry, I just go without it.

After doing my makeup, I put on my outfit for the day. I tend to lay my outfits out the night before, so I don't have to worry about picking out and deciding what I want to wear that day. Because I had 8 am classes four days a week this quarter, I found that spending 5 minutes to look up the weather forecast for the next day and figuring out what to wear based on the forecast, it made it so much easier on me in the morning. I simply slipped on the outfit I put on my chair the night before, grabbed my backpack and other necessities, and went to class!

So, here is my morning routine! As I mentioned at the beginning of the post, yes it is totally simple, but it works for me! I prefer having a more casual, fresh look when I go to my college classes, and find that this routine works for me when I have a bit more time in the morning as well as when I am in a hurry. Because I am often busy in college I try to manage my time more efficiently, and laying out my outfits the day before as well as having a quick morning routine definitely helps! I hope you all enjoyed reading this post; I definitely enjoyed writing it, and I will have a new post next week!

Book Recommendations

I am a huge book worm and try to read whenever I have time, which is usually late at night before I go to bed, on weekends, or on breaks. I recently found that I was short on books to read, which led me to research on Google novels that would appeal to me. Because I am a sucker for romance movies, I mainly looked for that genre of novels. I recently got a few novels in the mail along with a few that a friend let me borrow, and I want to share them with you. 1. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green - I have read this book around three or four times, and it is still my favorite novel. It is a story about two teenagers who do have cancer, but it focuses more on the blossoming love story between them and how their world changes because of that as they also go through ups and downs due to their illnesses. It is a great read anywhere and anytime, and will always make you tear up by the end. 2. Let It Snow - This novel consists of three holiday stories written by John Green, Maure...

Dairy-free Banana Bread

From the end of 2019 to now, I have been really into baking breads. Out of the ones I have made, making banana bread and pumpkin walnut bread have been my top favorites. One of the first banana breads that I made was utterly delicious! However, because I like to share my baked goods with others, particularly my boyfriend, I went on the hunt for a dairy free recipe. My boyfriend is lactose intolerant, and I wanted to bake something that both he and I could enjoy. So, upon coming upon this recipe during my search online, I made a loaf last night and it was so delicious I had to share it on the blog. Here is the recipe! Photo from Google Images Ingredients: 4 very ripe bananas 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup dark brown sugar 1/2 cup canola oil or coconut oil 2 eggs 2 tsp vanilla extract 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 tsp baking soda 2 tsp ground cinnamon 1 tsp sea salt Steps: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a standard size loaf pan (I use olive ...
