Sephora Makeup Haul June 2016

I recently went to Sephora at my local shopping mall to get new makeup to try out, as well as replacement makeup for makeup that I had used up or was running out of. Because I got a fair amount of new makeup and haven't done a "What's in my makeup bag" blog post in a while now, I thought I would write a post on the makeup I recently bought, as well as the makeup that I currently use!

Here is the new makeup that I recently purchased:

  1. Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Matte Bronzer - I have always wanted to try out this Benefit Cosmetics bronzer, so I took this as the opportunity to try it!!! It comes in a super cute package and is a beautiful color, so I am sure I will love it!!!! I have not used it yet, but I am positive I will be trying it out within the next few days.
  2. Benefit Cosmetics Boi-ing Concealer in color 01 - Like the Benefit Cosmetics bronzer, I have read so many great reviews on this concealer, and had to buy it once I saw it in store. Honestly, I have always had my eye on this concealer, but never bought it because I always used the Tarte concealer. I bought a concealer brush to use with this concealer so we will see how that goes, and I am sure I will be trying this concealer out for the first time very very soon!
  3. Sephora Perfecting Concealer brush - Like I just said, I bought this brush to use with the Benefit Cosmetics Boi-ing Concealer, just to see if I like how the concealer looks when patted in with a brush instead of my fingers. I will test this out when I try out my Benefits Cosmetics Concealer and see how it goes!
  4. First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration - I already know that I love this lotion; I use the large version of it on my hands every night as an intense moisturizer since I have such dry skin on my hands. I keep the larger container by my bedside and use it every night, and I wanted to have a smaller version of it so I could throw it in my purse! So, I bought this smaller version of the lotion to throw in my purse and use as a hand lotion whenever I need one, on the go.
  5. Too Faced Cocoa Powder Foundation (Pressed Powder) in color Light Medium - I have already been using this foundation for over a year, but I bought it in a lighter color and therefore, also put it in this section because it's a new shade that I am trying out. I have tried this and have been using it for a few days, and I love the new shade and will probably continue to buy it instead of the original shade I used to get (Medium). This foundation overall is amazing though, and I highly recommend it to everyone who is thinking about trying it out.

Bonus product:

  1. Laura Mercier "A Flawless Fit" collection - Because I am a Sephora Beauty Insider, I apparently have been accumulating a lot of points with my Sephora purchases. Because of this, I redeemed some of my points to get this Laura Mercier box filled with travel/trial size makeup products, including a infusion de rose nourishing oil, foundation primer, matte radiance baked powder, translucent loose setting powder, and mini lip gloss. I will be using all of these products as well as the new ones I have received, and am sure I will love them!

Here is the makeup that I currently own/use:

  1. Too Faced Cocoa Powder Foundation (Pressed Powder) in color Light Medium - I have been using this foundation for over a year now, and I am still in love with it, just like I was when I first started using it last summer. This foundation is amazing; it works with my skin type, doesn't make me break out, and provides great coverage! It also smells amazing, which is just another plus. I just bought this in a lighter shade (Light Medium) because they were out of the original shade I use (Medium), but I have found that the Light Medium shade works a lot better with my skin tone than the Medium color, so I think from now on I will be using the Light Medium shade! Overall this foundation is amazing and even though it is more on the pricey side, it has been working so well for me and I will be using this well into the future.
  2. Too Faced Bronzer in color Sun Bunny - This bronzer works really well and looks amazing; every single time I put makeup on, which is basically every day, I always find myself reaching for this bronzer after applying my foundation. I have been using this bronzer for over a year now and love it; the Sun Bunny color really compliments my skin tone. If any of you are debating whether to purchase this bronzer, definitely go for it. It is a bit expensive, but so worth the purchase.
  3. Bare Minerals Original Mineral Veil - I use this finishing/setting powder over my foundation and bronzer to set my makeup and make sure it stays on my face all day. It works incredibly well and feels super light, like i am not even wearing makeup! A plus to this powder is that it contains SPF 25, which is awesome if I am going out in the sun. You can get this at any Bare Minerals store or Sephora and possibly other stores, so it is fairly accessible!
  4. Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof 12 hour Concealer in color light-medium honey - This concealer comes in stick form, so I apply it onto my face using the stick then lightly pat it in with my ring finger. I love that it comes in the form of a stick, as I can then apply it without having to constantly touch it with my fingers and transfer bacteria and germs to it. This concealer also lasts me a long time and blends in really well with my skin to cover any red spots or imperfections!
  5. NYX Butter Gloss in color Eclair - I actually got this lip gloss at Target on a whim, and it works so well and looks incredible! It is a cute pink color that, when applied, gives a cute, fresh look to wear on the lips daily!

Getting Through Finals Week

As winter break is approaching and finals week is coming up, many students are stressed about how to study in order to perform successfully on their tests. Here are some tips on how to be calm, well rested, and ready for finals week. 1. Use Quizlet  - I started using Quizlet my junior year of high school, and I have used it ever since. I am now a freshman in college and I still use Quizlet for my classes. Quizlet is amazing; if you have a lot of terms you need to memorize, Quizlet is the perfect online website that will help you study those terms. Once you write in the terms and their definitions, there are a variety of options you can choose in order to study the terms, including a test, flashcards, etc. 2. Get lots of rest - Don't stay out late when you know you have a final the next day. Getting a lot of rest is beneficial if you want to perform well on a test. It does sound lame to go to sleep really early, but if you do so, your body will thank you. By going to sleep early...

Spicy Veggie Bean Chili

Since moving from my old house with a tiny, cramped kitchen to my new house with a large, open kitchen with an island, I have been meal prepping, cooking, and baking a lot more. With this, I have been keen to try new recipes! I do eat meat, but most of the time I tend to cook vegetarian and vegan meals. This vegetarian chili recipe was one that I came across while browsing for a good, hearty chili recipe, and it is so delicious I had to share it with all of you. I did not come up with this recipe myself. The lovely Shannon, with her blog "The Glowing Fridge," posted this recipe. Her website is amazing, and I highly recommend you check it out. (Also, if you are interested in more plant based recipes, take a look at Shannon's website here: https://www.theglowingfridge.com ) Ingredients: 1/3 cup vegetable broth (or 1 tbsp olive oil) - for sautéing 1 onion, diced 1/4 of a finely diced jalapeño (optional) 3 minced cloves of garlic 1 bell pepper of any color, diced 1 ...
