Merry Christmas Eve!

So this post is about Christmas although I am writing it on Christmas Eve, but to me the whole month of December is filled with holiday and cheer, so I figured that writing a post on Christmas Eve was close enough!!

I have been on winter break from college since December 9, and go back to school early January. I spent my first week of winter break in Santa Barbara participating in Christmas holiday shopping, making gingerbread houses while listening to Christmas holiday music, going on trolley tours of Christmas light decorated houses, and making my boyfriend's mother's holiday cookies. That first week in Santa Barbara really got me in the holiday spirit, and when I spent the second week in Tahoe I got more excited about the holidays. Tahoe had a gigantic Christmas tree decorated with lights and ornaments, everyone was Christmas shopping, and everyone was just in a good mood because of the holidays.

For me, listening to holiday music while doing Christmas-like activities like baking or making a gingerbread house, and watching Christmas movies like The Polar Express, Elf, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Love Actually, and so on, really get me in the holiday spirit. Christmas is definitely my favorite holiday out of them all, and I love buying gifts for my friends and family and seeing the happiness and joy on their face when they open the presents I bought for them. Every year I get more and more in the holiday spirit, going to more extremes to buy more and more Christmas gifts for everyone I love. I love giving and receiving gifts, and hearing my friends and loved ones talking about giving gifts and receiving gifts makes me so happy.

Everyone should be able to get into the holiday mood and really enjoy their Christmas. If you do not celebrate Christmas that is fine! No matter what religion you are affiliated with and what holidays you celebrate, make sure that you are your happiest, and enjoy all the time you spend with your loved ones. To me, the month of December is all about the holidays, and I am having a blast on the days leading up to the holidays because of all the Christmas-related activities I have been able to participate in. I am also excited for Christmas day, as I will get to open presents, give presents, and have a lovely Christmas lunch with family!

Make sure that this month, although it is almost over, you will all have fun and be happy. This month celebrates many holidays, whether Christmas, Hanukkah, and so on, and no matter what holiday you celebrate, I want all of you to have a great time and get in the holiday spirit. Spend time with your loved ones before the new year, and be in a joyful mood!

Book Recommendations

I am a huge book worm and try to read whenever I have time, which is usually late at night before I go to bed, on weekends, or on breaks. I recently found that I was short on books to read, which led me to research on Google novels that would appeal to me. Because I am a sucker for romance movies, I mainly looked for that genre of novels. I recently got a few novels in the mail along with a few that a friend let me borrow, and I want to share them with you. 1. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green - I have read this book around three or four times, and it is still my favorite novel. It is a story about two teenagers who do have cancer, but it focuses more on the blossoming love story between them and how their world changes because of that as they also go through ups and downs due to their illnesses. It is a great read anywhere and anytime, and will always make you tear up by the end. 2. Let It Snow - This novel consists of three holiday stories written by John Green, Maure...

Dairy-free Banana Bread

From the end of 2019 to now, I have been really into baking breads. Out of the ones I have made, making banana bread and pumpkin walnut bread have been my top favorites. One of the first banana breads that I made was utterly delicious! However, because I like to share my baked goods with others, particularly my boyfriend, I went on the hunt for a dairy free recipe. My boyfriend is lactose intolerant, and I wanted to bake something that both he and I could enjoy. So, upon coming upon this recipe during my search online, I made a loaf last night and it was so delicious I had to share it on the blog. Here is the recipe! Photo from Google Images Ingredients: 4 very ripe bananas 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup dark brown sugar 1/2 cup canola oil or coconut oil 2 eggs 2 tsp vanilla extract 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 tsp baking soda 2 tsp ground cinnamon 1 tsp sea salt Steps: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
