My Week Spent In Santa Barbara

The first week of my winter break just passed, and I spent it in beautiful Santa Barbara with my boyfriend. I spent a week there and I had the best time of my life. There were so many activities we had planned that really allowed me to engage with Santa Barbara's most attractive sites, and I had a really fun first week of my winter break!

Friday - The first day we got there, Friday, we settled in, dropped all our stuff off, and went grocery shopping. Then we watched some TV and basically just got settled in from the 5 hour road trip.

Saturday - My boyfriend and I went out to breakfast at a cute little restaurant where I had a delicious egg scramble with a biscuit on the side. After breakfast, we went shopping at Best Buy, Ulta Beauty, and Anna's Bakery, and then met up with his parents and went shopping at Costco. After, my boyfriend and I went to Trader Joes and a small Japanese market, then went back home. Later in the afternoon we went to dinner at Los Agaves, then went on a lights trolley tour from 7:30 pm to 9 pm where we went around on a trolley looking at the neighborhoods with the most Christmas light decorated houses. All of the houses were decked out in blow up santas and reindeers, along with beautiful Christmas lights that really got me in the Christmas spirit!

Sunday - we went to see Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them with my boyfriend's roommate and my boyfriend's 3 best friends. It was such a funny movie, and I thought it was comedic, very intense, and I was engaged throughout the entire film. Afterwards we went to Chilis for lunch, and then to a shopping mall where we went to See's Candy, Williams Sonoma, etc.

Monday - On Monday we went to two shopping malls to do some Christmas shopping which was very successful, and then we went to The Habit, where I got a delicious hamburger while my boyfriend got chicken nuggets and a strawberry malt.

Tuesday - We met up with two of my boyfriend's friends at the golf course where we grabbed a delicious lunch at the restaurant there, went putting, then hit some golf balls on the driving range. After that we all went back to my boyfriends house where the three of them watched a show while I watched Greys Anatomy in another room.

Wednesday - We baked cookies that was my boyfriend's mom's grandmother's famous recipe. We made about 3 dozen cookies, so many that I had to take some home when I went home today!

Thursday - My boyfriend and I went to The Habit again, where I got a chicken club sandwich and he again got chicken nuggets and a strawberry malt. Then we just relaxed at home while I packed up and got ready to leave for home the next day.

Friday - I left around 9 am and made it home around 2 pm. Now I have just been doing laundry, organizing everything, am about to order take out sushi right now, and am meeting with some of my friends in an hour!

Book Recommendations

I am a huge book worm and try to read whenever I have time, which is usually late at night before I go to bed, on weekends, or on breaks. I recently found that I was short on books to read, which led me to research on Google novels that would appeal to me. Because I am a sucker for romance movies, I mainly looked for that genre of novels. I recently got a few novels in the mail along with a few that a friend let me borrow, and I want to share them with you. 1. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green - I have read this book around three or four times, and it is still my favorite novel. It is a story about two teenagers who do have cancer, but it focuses more on the blossoming love story between them and how their world changes because of that as they also go through ups and downs due to their illnesses. It is a great read anywhere and anytime, and will always make you tear up by the end. 2. Let It Snow - This novel consists of three holiday stories written by John Green, Maure...

Dairy-free Banana Bread

From the end of 2019 to now, I have been really into baking breads. Out of the ones I have made, making banana bread and pumpkin walnut bread have been my top favorites. One of the first banana breads that I made was utterly delicious! However, because I like to share my baked goods with others, particularly my boyfriend, I went on the hunt for a dairy free recipe. My boyfriend is lactose intolerant, and I wanted to bake something that both he and I could enjoy. So, upon coming upon this recipe during my search online, I made a loaf last night and it was so delicious I had to share it on the blog. Here is the recipe! Photo from Google Images Ingredients: 4 very ripe bananas 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup dark brown sugar 1/2 cup canola oil or coconut oil 2 eggs 2 tsp vanilla extract 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 tsp baking soda 2 tsp ground cinnamon 1 tsp sea salt Steps: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
