Super Bowl Food Consumption

Today is the big game day; the Super Bowl is today! Because everyone has their game day parties, houses are filled to the brim with different types of snacks that will all be consumed while the game is being watched. However, what so many people are unaware of, is how many calories they are consuming on Super Bowl day. I wanted to comment on this in today's post.

So many individuals run to the grocery store to buy the essentials for game day: chips, salsa, guacamole, wings, beer, and soda. Besides this, most individuals have a lot of other dishes planned out, which makes game day potentially the number one most caloric day of the year (there are debates between whether the Super Bowl or Thanksgiving day is the most caloric day of the year). According to many grocery stores, so many individuals consume an unhealthy amount of food during the Super Bowl, and unhealthy types of foods.

On game day, people are unlikely to sit in front of the TV munching on vegetables with ranch dipping sauce and sipping glasses of water. Everyone consumes nachos, burgers, cookies, cakes, cupcakes, beer, hot dogs, and very greasy foods. It is hypothesized that everyone watching the game becomes so immersed with the game that they will consume anything that is within their reach, which is typically unhealthy foods and alcohol that are typical Super Bowl game day foods to bring to game day parties.

However, there is an upside to this. Most people who give into eating these foods only do so on certain days of the year, like Super Bowl day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and other holidays. These are only a few days out of the year, so indulging in these foods only a few times out of the year is okay, although not great. As long as individuals are not consuming lots of fatty, greasy, unhealthy sorts of foods every single day of the year, giving in to one's cravings on certain days is fine.

Super Bowl day is a really big day for a lot of people, and food is just another supplement to game day that everyone loves to have around. However, in order to make sure that you do not over consume food, make sure that you do not participate in consuming food after food without being aware of what you are eating, try not to consume too much alcohol, and make sure that you eat healthy meals after game day.

Book Recommendations

I am a huge book worm and try to read whenever I have time, which is usually late at night before I go to bed, on weekends, or on breaks. I recently found that I was short on books to read, which led me to research on Google novels that would appeal to me. Because I am a sucker for romance movies, I mainly looked for that genre of novels. I recently got a few novels in the mail along with a few that a friend let me borrow, and I want to share them with you. 1. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green - I have read this book around three or four times, and it is still my favorite novel. It is a story about two teenagers who do have cancer, but it focuses more on the blossoming love story between them and how their world changes because of that as they also go through ups and downs due to their illnesses. It is a great read anywhere and anytime, and will always make you tear up by the end. 2. Let It Snow - This novel consists of three holiday stories written by John Green, Maure...

Dairy-free Banana Bread

From the end of 2019 to now, I have been really into baking breads. Out of the ones I have made, making banana bread and pumpkin walnut bread have been my top favorites. One of the first banana breads that I made was utterly delicious! However, because I like to share my baked goods with others, particularly my boyfriend, I went on the hunt for a dairy free recipe. My boyfriend is lactose intolerant, and I wanted to bake something that both he and I could enjoy. So, upon coming upon this recipe during my search online, I made a loaf last night and it was so delicious I had to share it on the blog. Here is the recipe! Photo from Google Images Ingredients: 4 very ripe bananas 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup dark brown sugar 1/2 cup canola oil or coconut oil 2 eggs 2 tsp vanilla extract 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 tsp baking soda 2 tsp ground cinnamon 1 tsp sea salt Steps: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
