Nativity Carnival

Do you enjoy rides, games and activities? Is interacting with others and being in crowded places your thing? Are you that type of person who isn't afraid to let out a scream filled with happiness? If so, then the Nativity Carnival is the place to be.

This year was the 34th annual holding of the Nativity Carnival at Nativity School in Menlo Park. The carnival is always held at the beginning of June; this year it was open from June 6-8. Many people believe the carnival is just a place with rides, but the carnival actually has rides, game booths, a food court, and live entertainment. The carnival always has a consistent crowd of people waiting in line to buy tickets, or going on rides each day it is open.

I have been to the carnival a few times, and it never fails to make me happy; I have gone on probably all of the rides with the exception of a few that I am terrified of, and they are all fantastic. The carnival is a place to interact with others or just go with friends, and you will always have fun; the carnival will never bore you to death.

The Zipper
Although all of the rides are popular, among the most interesting ones to look at or ride have to be the classic Ferris Wheel or most importantly, The Zipper. The Ferris wheel is fantastic because it is a simple way to relax, and the view from the top of the wheel is stunning. The Zipper however, is the complete opposite. This ride is always emitting screams of terror or happiness from its riders, and always has a long line stemming from its base. This ride features a long oval boom that has free flipping cars attached to it. The oval body rotates around like a Ferris Wheel, and when it rotates the car filled with people flip around and around, leaving the riders nauseous yet joyful. I have never gone on The Zipper due to a fear that I will either faint or throw up because of all the flipping and sudden drops, but it is one of the most popular rides every year.

Overall, the Nativity Carnival continues to be a popular attraction ever year from kids all the way to adults. The prices of the tickets have been increasing, but buying handfuls of them are still worth it; the rides are better each year, and going on each one once is clearly not enough; two or three times is optimal. The Nativity Carnival is closed for the rest of the year, but if you have not gone before, definitely go next year. It is definitely worth it.

Book Recommendations

I am a huge book worm and try to read whenever I have time, which is usually late at night before I go to bed, on weekends, or on breaks. I recently found that I was short on books to read, which led me to research on Google novels that would appeal to me. Because I am a sucker for romance movies, I mainly looked for that genre of novels. I recently got a few novels in the mail along with a few that a friend let me borrow, and I want to share them with you. 1. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green - I have read this book around three or four times, and it is still my favorite novel. It is a story about two teenagers who do have cancer, but it focuses more on the blossoming love story between them and how their world changes because of that as they also go through ups and downs due to their illnesses. It is a great read anywhere and anytime, and will always make you tear up by the end. 2. Let It Snow - This novel consists of three holiday stories written by John Green, Maure...

Dairy-free Banana Bread

From the end of 2019 to now, I have been really into baking breads. Out of the ones I have made, making banana bread and pumpkin walnut bread have been my top favorites. One of the first banana breads that I made was utterly delicious! However, because I like to share my baked goods with others, particularly my boyfriend, I went on the hunt for a dairy free recipe. My boyfriend is lactose intolerant, and I wanted to bake something that both he and I could enjoy. So, upon coming upon this recipe during my search online, I made a loaf last night and it was so delicious I had to share it on the blog. Here is the recipe! Photo from Google Images Ingredients: 4 very ripe bananas 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup dark brown sugar 1/2 cup canola oil or coconut oil 2 eggs 2 tsp vanilla extract 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 tsp baking soda 2 tsp ground cinnamon 1 tsp sea salt Steps: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
