The New Year

As 2014 comes to a close, we all reflect on what has happened in the year, entertainment wise, personally, work related, etc. But just as often as we reflect, we also look towards the future, and ponder what 2015 will bring. I personally have a lot planned for the next year, both personally and generally, and I can't wait for the new year to come. Take a look.

1. The fact that 2015 will bring the end of the school year is probably the most important thing to me. Sure, everyone is probably thinking "Yay the end of the school year!" but then get disappointed because they have another school year to handle after the summer, but the end of the school year in 2015 means graduation for me. As a senior in high school, graduation is something I have looked forward to for years. Wearing the cap and gown and walking across that stage to receive my diploma is something all seniors look forward to at the start of their senior year. And at my school we have a tradition where we decorate our caps with the logos or mascot of the college we will be attending in the fall, and that is huge. And we of course have the throwing of the caps in the air after hearing the announcement that we have graduated.

2. Besides waiting for graduation, I can't wait for summer of 2015. First of all, my cousin is flying from New York to California where I live, and she's staying with me for a few weeks. It's basically the only time we will get to see each other before we both go off to college, and I can't wait! She will have to endure all the 5SOS posters in my room, but besides that we will have a great time!

3. After that, I'm going with my friend to see 5SOS live in concert in July. It will be my first time seeing 5SOS in concert, and I am such a die hard fan that I will probably faint (not even exaggerating). I'm actually listening to their live album that was just released (LIVESOS) as I am typing this and I'm freaking out inside just listening to their voices. I can't wait to see them, and I know the concert will be memorable! My friend and I will both be decked out from head to toe in 5SOS merchandise, so if you are going to the concert, be on the lookout for that!

4. I'm also going to spend as much time as I can with my friends before we all go our separate ways to college. No matter how much I want us to all stay together and attend the same college, I know that will not happen. Us going to the same college is like saying that you never make mistakes in life. We all have such different tastes in what we want to major in and where we want to go, and I know wherever we end up attending we will be happy, but it is basically impossible to say we will be attending the same college. Heck, I'm not even applying to any of the same schools as my friends, except for two or three of the same ones.

As you can tell, I have a lot on my plate for 2015. From graduation to the 5SOS concert and going off to college, 2015 is going to be a huge leap year for me; I will be leaving high school, leaving my home, and starting a new life somewhere new. I cannot wait, yet I am still sad about it. But, whatever I do and wherever I end up in 2015, I will know that those decisions are only giving me the best that I can get.

Happy holidays to everyone, and lets look forward to a great 2015 year!

Book Recommendations

I am a huge book worm and try to read whenever I have time, which is usually late at night before I go to bed, on weekends, or on breaks. I recently found that I was short on books to read, which led me to research on Google novels that would appeal to me. Because I am a sucker for romance movies, I mainly looked for that genre of novels. I recently got a few novels in the mail along with a few that a friend let me borrow, and I want to share them with you. 1. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green - I have read this book around three or four times, and it is still my favorite novel. It is a story about two teenagers who do have cancer, but it focuses more on the blossoming love story between them and how their world changes because of that as they also go through ups and downs due to their illnesses. It is a great read anywhere and anytime, and will always make you tear up by the end. 2. Let It Snow - This novel consists of three holiday stories written by John Green, Maure...

Dairy-free Banana Bread

From the end of 2019 to now, I have been really into baking breads. Out of the ones I have made, making banana bread and pumpkin walnut bread have been my top favorites. One of the first banana breads that I made was utterly delicious! However, because I like to share my baked goods with others, particularly my boyfriend, I went on the hunt for a dairy free recipe. My boyfriend is lactose intolerant, and I wanted to bake something that both he and I could enjoy. So, upon coming upon this recipe during my search online, I made a loaf last night and it was so delicious I had to share it on the blog. Here is the recipe! Photo from Google Images Ingredients: 4 very ripe bananas 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup dark brown sugar 1/2 cup canola oil or coconut oil 2 eggs 2 tsp vanilla extract 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 tsp baking soda 2 tsp ground cinnamon 1 tsp sea salt Steps: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a standard size loaf pan (I use olive ...
