A Day In The Life

A day in the life of a senior in high school? Well, there's not much to tell.

6:10 a.m. - My phone's alarm rings to wake me up. Yes I know 6:10 is really early, but I have a system. The alarm rings, and I automatically hit the snooze button.

10 minutes later...

6:20 a.m. - My alarm rings for the second time, and I hit snooze for the second time.

10 minutes later...

6:30 a.m. - Alarm rings again, and I turn it off for the third time, then lay in bed for five minutes. Then I reluctantly drag myself out of bed.

6:35 a.m. - I go into the bathroom and wash my face, moisturize, and listen to music while putting makeup on.

6:45 a.m. - I walk back into my room and change into my outfit for the day.

6:55 a.m. to 7:40 a.m. - I go into the kitchen and make breakfast (usually oatmeal with chia seeds, walnuts, and blueberries, and eggs on the side). While eating breakfast I study, finish homework, or watch a TV show.

7:40 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. - I clean up my dishes, pack my lunch, and get everything ready in my backpack.

7:50 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. - I brush my teeth, spray some perfume on, then head back to the kitchen and put my shoes on and leave the house.

8:05 a.m. - I drive to school and listen to the radio, jamming out to the music playing on there.

8:15 a.m. to 8:20 a.m. - I arrive at school, park, and wait for my friend to show up.

8:30 a.m. - I walk to the Career Center with my friend and hang out until the bell rings at 8:40.

8:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. - School is in session.

3:15 p.m. - Since school ends at 3:15 I quickly walk to the parking lot with the hopes of beating the parking lot traffic and getting home before 4.

3:20 p.m. - Got stuck in the middle of traffic. Darn.

3:25 p.m. - Waiting.

3:30 p.m. - Still waiting.

3:40 p.m. - Finally got out of parking lot, and am heading home now.

3:55 p.m. - Get home.

4:15 p.m. - Go running on the street, or do some other form of exercise in order to stay in shape.

4:45 p.m. - Eat something healthy, whether it is a chia seed fruit smoothie or fruit. I usually watch TV while doing this.

6:00 p.m. - Still watching TV, but eating dinner while doing it.

7:00 p.m. - I decide to do my homework. I pull out my math, do one problem, then get distracted.

7:45 p.m. - Still doing math homework. But, I made myself a salad so I have a healthy snack while staying focused.

9:30 p.m. - Managed to finish most of my homework. Now I reward myself by watching an episode of Parks and Rec.

11:00 p.m. - Studying in bed (not the best option) where I keep falling asleep and reading the same paragraph over and over without absorbing anything.

12:00 a.m. - Decide to stop studying for the night due to exhaustion and go to sleep, ready to start the entire cycle over again the next day.

Book Recommendations

I am a huge book worm and try to read whenever I have time, which is usually late at night before I go to bed, on weekends, or on breaks. I recently found that I was short on books to read, which led me to research on Google novels that would appeal to me. Because I am a sucker for romance movies, I mainly looked for that genre of novels. I recently got a few novels in the mail along with a few that a friend let me borrow, and I want to share them with you. 1. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green - I have read this book around three or four times, and it is still my favorite novel. It is a story about two teenagers who do have cancer, but it focuses more on the blossoming love story between them and how their world changes because of that as they also go through ups and downs due to their illnesses. It is a great read anywhere and anytime, and will always make you tear up by the end. 2. Let It Snow - This novel consists of three holiday stories written by John Green, Maure...

Dairy-free Banana Bread

From the end of 2019 to now, I have been really into baking breads. Out of the ones I have made, making banana bread and pumpkin walnut bread have been my top favorites. One of the first banana breads that I made was utterly delicious! However, because I like to share my baked goods with others, particularly my boyfriend, I went on the hunt for a dairy free recipe. My boyfriend is lactose intolerant, and I wanted to bake something that both he and I could enjoy. So, upon coming upon this recipe during my search online, I made a loaf last night and it was so delicious I had to share it on the blog. Here is the recipe! Photo from Google Images Ingredients: 4 very ripe bananas 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup dark brown sugar 1/2 cup canola oil or coconut oil 2 eggs 2 tsp vanilla extract 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 tsp baking soda 2 tsp ground cinnamon 1 tsp sea salt Steps: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a standard size loaf pan (I use olive ...
