Grammys 2015

The Grammys were on last night, and needless to say, they were AMAZING. I really don't think there is any other word that can triumph amazing; the show was fantastic. The performers were amazing, the artists that won each award clearly deserved them, and it was a fantastic show overall.

Although I only watched the show for 2 hours I got to see all of my favorite artists perform, like Ed Sheeran, Adam Levine singing a duet with Gwen Stefani, Hozier, ACDC, Ariana Grande, among many more. And besides seeing these amazing artists perform I got to see one of my favorite artists, Sam Smith, win two Grammys! That was just incredible to see. In the two hours I watched my favorite moments were definitely the performances, as Ed Sheeran killed it on stage as usual, Ariana Grande sang an angelic version of her song Just A Little Bit Of Your Heart, and Adam Levine and Gwen Stefani sang a lovely duet of a Maroon 5 song that left me with my mouth open in awe. The song they sang, My Heart Is Open, is one that I had never heard before then, and it was incredible. Both artists sang it with such passion and the lyrics really touched me, and I immediately bought the song from iTunes and put it on my phone. And I am sure this song is going to be my go to song for the next few months, and I will be listening to it 24/7 and memorizing every lyric.

Besides Adam and Gwen, Ed Sheeran completely blew me away with his performance. I was screaming every single time Ed Sheeran's face popped up on the TV, and I am sure it drove my parents, who were watching with me, completely insane. I was barely able to control my inner fangirl as he took stage, and he was so much better than I thought he would be. He sang his most recent hit song Thinking Out Loud and then sang a duet with Questlove on drums, Herbie Hancock on keys, and John Mayer on lead guitar. This performance brought the crowd up on its feet; by the end of the performance no one was left sitting in their seat, because everyone was on their feet clapping.

Although I was there to watch Sam Smith win two grammys, I cannot believe I stopped watching! Sam Smith won 2 more grammys, collecting up a total of 4 for the night. He won Record of The Year, Best Pop Vocal Album, Song of The Year, and Best New Artist. Besides winning 4 grammys, Sam Smith sang a duet with Mary J. Blige and they both killed it! They were both incredible and their voices meshed so well together. Sam Smith completely deserved all 4 of these awards; he has worked his butt off to get where he is today and he truly deserves every single award. He is such an inspiration to me and the rest of his fans; every one of his songs is so personal and touching and his performances always blow me away. So congratulations Sam Smith! I love you!

Although I missed the rest of the awards and performances I am sure they were just as mind-blowing as the first two hours of the show. The Grammys are definitely one of the biggest shows every year, bringing huge artists together for one memorable night of awards and performances. Everyone who won awards, whether it was one award, two awards, or many more definitely deserved it, and we should honor all the winners who worked so hard to get where they are today and the performers who practiced endlessly to perfect their performances for this magical night.

Here are two performances, one from Ed Sheeran, one from Sam Smith, one from Hozier's and Annie Lenox's duet, and the other from Adam Levine's and Gwen Stefani's duet.

Book Recommendations

I am a huge book worm and try to read whenever I have time, which is usually late at night before I go to bed, on weekends, or on breaks. I recently found that I was short on books to read, which led me to research on Google novels that would appeal to me. Because I am a sucker for romance movies, I mainly looked for that genre of novels. I recently got a few novels in the mail along with a few that a friend let me borrow, and I want to share them with you. 1. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green - I have read this book around three or four times, and it is still my favorite novel. It is a story about two teenagers who do have cancer, but it focuses more on the blossoming love story between them and how their world changes because of that as they also go through ups and downs due to their illnesses. It is a great read anywhere and anytime, and will always make you tear up by the end. 2. Let It Snow - This novel consists of three holiday stories written by John Green, Maure...

Dairy-free Banana Bread

From the end of 2019 to now, I have been really into baking breads. Out of the ones I have made, making banana bread and pumpkin walnut bread have been my top favorites. One of the first banana breads that I made was utterly delicious! However, because I like to share my baked goods with others, particularly my boyfriend, I went on the hunt for a dairy free recipe. My boyfriend is lactose intolerant, and I wanted to bake something that both he and I could enjoy. So, upon coming upon this recipe during my search online, I made a loaf last night and it was so delicious I had to share it on the blog. Here is the recipe! Photo from Google Images Ingredients: 4 very ripe bananas 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup dark brown sugar 1/2 cup canola oil or coconut oil 2 eggs 2 tsp vanilla extract 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 tsp baking soda 2 tsp ground cinnamon 1 tsp sea salt Steps: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a standard size loaf pan (I use olive ...
