Favorite TV Shows of October 2016

Over the summer I had lots of free time on my hands, leaving me to discover new shows on Netflix. I have been told by so many friends as well as family that I should watch certain shows, which left me with a very long list of to watch shows and shows to catch up on. Because of this, I wanted to make a list of shows that are my own personal favorites, as well as shows I haven't seen myself but that I know people are loving.

1. Grey's Anatomy - This show is currently my favorite one. I started it over the summer and have been hooked since the first episode. I am currently on season 6, and I am still obsessed. This show takes place in a hospital, showcasing the lives of many doctors and their work life as well as their personal ones. The show makes you feel every emotion; after every episode I am filled with sadness, joy, surprise, shock, etc. Although there are 12 seasons currently on Netflix with a 13th season airing right now, I am positive anyone who watches this show will be hooked.

2. Scream Queens - This show is not on Netflix, but I believe you can access it through Amazon video by paying for the episodes, or through Hulu or Fox. I watched the 1st season a few weeks ago and loved it, and am currently watching the 2nd season. The first season took place in a sorority house at college, and the second season which is currently airing, takes place in a hospital. It is a mix between horror and comedy, and the end of each episode always leaves you hanging and wanting more.

3. The Office - I have never seen this show but everyone I talk to absolutely loves it. This show is on Netflix and is a comedy/sitcom genre featuring Steve Carell, Mindy Kaling, among many more actors/actresses. When I have finished the TV show I am currently watching, this show is my next one to watch!

4. Jane the Virgin - I watched the 1st season of this show and I thought it was incredible! The characters are hilarious, and the plot is really intricate and not too hard to follow. The end of the 1st season ended on such a cliffhanger that I had to watch part of season 2. I have not finished season 2, but will do so eventually! It is an intense yet comedic show that is completely worth watching!

5. American Horror Story - I watched all of season 2 of this show (Asylum), but could not watch the rest due to it being too scary for me. The scary music plus the high likelihood of things jumping out and scaring me was too much, so I only watched 1 season then gave it up. There are so many people who religiously watch this show, and I completely understand why. The show is super interesting, and each season has a completely different twist and plot to it, which keeps it interesting!

Book Recommendations

I am a huge book worm and try to read whenever I have time, which is usually late at night before I go to bed, on weekends, or on breaks. I recently found that I was short on books to read, which led me to research on Google novels that would appeal to me. Because I am a sucker for romance movies, I mainly looked for that genre of novels. I recently got a few novels in the mail along with a few that a friend let me borrow, and I want to share them with you. 1. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green - I have read this book around three or four times, and it is still my favorite novel. It is a story about two teenagers who do have cancer, but it focuses more on the blossoming love story between them and how their world changes because of that as they also go through ups and downs due to their illnesses. It is a great read anywhere and anytime, and will always make you tear up by the end. 2. Let It Snow - This novel consists of three holiday stories written by John Green, Maure...

Dairy-free Banana Bread

From the end of 2019 to now, I have been really into baking breads. Out of the ones I have made, making banana bread and pumpkin walnut bread have been my top favorites. One of the first banana breads that I made was utterly delicious! However, because I like to share my baked goods with others, particularly my boyfriend, I went on the hunt for a dairy free recipe. My boyfriend is lactose intolerant, and I wanted to bake something that both he and I could enjoy. So, upon coming upon this recipe during my search online, I made a loaf last night and it was so delicious I had to share it on the blog. Here is the recipe! Photo from Google Images Ingredients: 4 very ripe bananas 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup dark brown sugar 1/2 cup canola oil or coconut oil 2 eggs 2 tsp vanilla extract 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 tsp baking soda 2 tsp ground cinnamon 1 tsp sea salt Steps: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
